The Newport Beach Fire Safe Council's mission is to mitigate wildfire risks and enforce preventative strategies to lower wildfire dangers in our community, utilizing science, education, cooperation, collaboration, and proactive measures to preserve lives and safeguard properties.
Nearly 5,000 properties and $11.5 billion worth of property and land in the City of Newport Beach are in danger of potential wildfire events. This includes 4,628 homes and 29 homeowner associations, totaling 308.8 acres of land. This presents a significant threat to the residents and businesses of Newport Beach.
Our goal is to bring together the resources of the city to reduce the threat of wildfire and minimize the impact of a potential event. We will work to educate the community, promote fire safety, and support emergency planning and preparedness efforts. Our goal is to ensure that Newport Beach is well-equipped and prepared to handle the threat of wildfire, now and in the future.
